Cool Place

How about this chapel huh? One of the coolest places to have a wedding. This the the Acadamy in Vancouver, WA. My buddy trevor was married here a couple years ago and I remember thinking, damn I hope I can shoot a wedding here someday, this place rocks! Nice available light, great architecture, etc, etc, etc. This shot is from a remote camera in the balcony.

Tillamook

Shot this as part of a PR shoot for Tillamook Bay Community College. The idea is to show how fun it could be if you went to college in the tiny coastal town of Tillamook, OR. The image and numerous others I have shot will be used in promo poeices and advertisments for the school.

Ok, making up for some lost time....I haven't shot any nice photos of Jordyn in 3 or 4 months, so we went to the studio again today. These may be 2 of the cutest photos I've ever shot of her.

WPJA Winners

The Wedding Photojournalist Association announced the winners of the Summer contest today. The contest is a good one as wedding pj's from all over the country enter. The image above placed first in the "Reception" category and this image:

Placed 8th in the "Kids" category. I'm a bit dissapointed in one picture that I entered that did not place, and I think it should have, but I will enter it in the next contest and see....overall, I am always very happy to win awards here. Only 3 other Oregon photographers placed, one 3rd and two 7th...and only 2 Washington photographers placed....but I was the only one who placed with two images (Hun Kim from Washington placed 2 images as well), so I'm feeling good about that. Check out the WPJA website for more winning....images, really, really good stuff.

1 Year Old

Jordyn turns 1 this week. My oh my how time flies. It's very strange to think that at this time last year, we did not have any kids, now I cannot imagine life without her. Here is one of many photos I shot of her today in the studio.

Shot my first football of the season tonight. Man football is fun to shoot. I'm a little rusty, but I so love to shoot football! Bring it on!

Carbon Copy

So, I'm checking my web tracking the other day and come across a site that was linked to me, so I went to check it out....Much to my surprise, the site was a carbon copy of my site, the guy basically stole my code and made it his own site....didn't even bother to change the colors or fonts or anything. Guess he liked my site :)

Rev C.B. Mitchelldyer

I just spent $20 to ordain myself online. That's right, you can now call me Rev Mitchelldyer! :) I figure it will come in handy when my sisters, or more likely, my Mother, get married. It will also come in handy if I'm shooting a wedding and the minister does not show up. :) I should offer imy services as part of my wedding packages.

No more baseball

The baseball season in Portland ended on Monday with the Beavers winning 2-0. I'm sad to see it go, I love baseball....and the light was just starting to get good, you know, the early sun sets making for nice low light....this is a frame of the last out of the last game of the season...not too bad!

Things that make you go hmmmmm

I call this one, "Thinking Baby." I was trying to shoot a nice portrait of my adorable little munchin, but she wasn't really having it today....this is as good as it got...Even in her darkest hour, she is still so damn cute.
